The Weather Is Changing

I really don't have much of an update.

This weekend I am:
-throwing a halloween costume party with my roommate Mike. Feel free to come join!
-having my good friend Will come up to spend the weekend with me
-parents are coming in town. I really do love being with them. They keep my feet planted on the ground
-working on 2 photo projects, yippy

I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week. I'm going to be cleaning the apartment and finding decorations to help spruce up the place a bit more, even though it is already looking festive!

Just Waiting on Time

These days I am coming to grasp the idea that we cannot predict the future. I am trying to understand it more by surrounding myself with what I know best. When times feel like they are their lowest it just might be the right time to figure out what I am all about. Thinking that one day I will have to stop creating isn't something I like thinking about.

Saturday Morning

When I woke up this morning, I decided to give my cousin Dawson Colvert a call and see what he was up to. Turns out he was down at his workshop working on carving a fireplace for a client. He is an amazing individual and one day I wish to to have as much talent as he has in his little finger. Dawson is truly a one-of-a-kind guy. I look forward to spending more time with him. Here are a few photos I shot of him for his website.

Feel free to visit him!

Unfortunately I only got to spend a fraction of time with him. But, he showed me around in the buildings that connect with his. We discovered a very nice location in which I am shooting a local band's promo shots. I really like this new location. Dawson and I decided to goof off. It was a great way to start my day!

Fall Break '08

The past few days for me have been a complete blur. It is amazing how time passes by when you are caught up in each day. Friday night, Mike and I headed to Birmingham to stay the night at my parents home. Of course, Mom was there to greet us with open arms and it sure was great seeing her. Saturday morning Mike and I hit the road once again to head South. That's right... THE BEACH. My dad and brother were already there and waiting anxiously for us to arrive. The weather couldn't have been more perfect. Mike really liked it once we got there. We unpacked and immediately went fishing. Now, if you know a lot about me and what I like to do, then you can bet that I was enjoying every second of it. We were on the water from about 2 till dark. Some great fishing (even though it wasn't my lucky day to say the least) and everyone enjoyed themselves. The next morning we were up before the sun and started our day off right. We waited for the seas to calm but it just wouldn't cooperate. So, we headed out anyways and let Mike get a chance to earn his sea legs. No luck out in the gulf but we had a blast just spending time together. We celebrated Matt's 24th birthday... He is getting old fast but I am close behind him. Monday we headed to the river to see my Uncle Sunny. He showed us how life on the river and back woods really is. We had a ball getting to ride the four wheelers and boats. It was a great day indeed!

It was great getting to spend time with my dad and brother and also Mike. It was even better getting to do the things I love doing while being around them. Spending time with family is what keeps my feet on the ground. I wouldn't have it any other way!
